Kultura Comes To Dupont

Ok, so I have to admit, I didn't hear about this one until I read it on BYT. But it looks and sounds promising. The old futon shop on Connecticut Ave north of the circle has been replaced by Kultura, a vintage shop that has everything from old books, to cds and (a slim amount) of vintage clothing. But let's be honest, I am a sucker for anything vintage.

Juice Beauty Serum

At what age do people stop getting pimples? 20? 30? 40? Ever? Last night over wine a friend raved about Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum. As in it is a "miracle worker". I haven't tried it yet.. but if it's as good as she says then it would have been criminal not to share.

Making Waves

It's easy to forget the havoc that humidity can cause in your hair in the dry winter months. But boom! there's an ounce of warmth and a smidge of humidity and suddenly the blowdryer goes away and the hair goes au naturale. Or something like that...

Basically what I am saying is that I have ditched the blowdryer and decided to embrace the small amount of wave in my hair. It's the lazy man's hairstyle. But now I am slightly obsessed with finding a curl enhancing cream that works. How do you people do this year round?!

McQueen Private Funeral Held Today

Today a private funeral (family only) is being held in London in honor of Alexander McQueen.
Gucici Group said that a public memorial will happen later on this year, since right now their main focus is the upcoming Paris show. I hate when the ugly side of fashion shows its head (looking at you Gucci Group).

In the meantime, I am sure there are lots who will be remembering him today... whether or not Paris fashion week is right around the corner.

Closings and Openings in Metro Center

While West Elm in Metro Center didn't seem to quite make it through the recession, there is good news for those of you who still like to pretend you are a tween and buy clothes made for girls half your age (yeah, that's me). Forever21 is going to open up in that space.

If I were you, I would drop what I was doing and dash right over to West Elm. Word has it that everything is on sale. Can someone get me a candle and a new throw while you are there?
